About me
I am currently the Head Equipment Manager for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the United States Hockey League, from August 2021 to present. I was previously the Head Equipment Manager for the Columbus River Dragons in the Federal Prospects Hockey League from March 2021- June 2021. This Tier I Junior Hockey League supports the development of players who are Division I college and NHL draft picks. Both positions required me to be responsible for all aspects of ensuring that the team’s players have all the equipment they need, that it is in good shape, organized and customized as needed. I have worked closely with the coaches and team management to ensure that all ordering adheres to the team’s budget and purchasing guidelines. I have worked with the opposing team’s personnel to coordinate the loading and unloading of equipment at home and away games. I make sure the locker room is neat, organized and meets the needs of the players and coaches. I sharpened all skates, sewed on name plates and repaired equipment as needed. I was on the bench for all games to respond to any equipment situations that came up during games.
While attending SUNY Cortland for my Sports Management Degree, I was an intern with the Union College Men’s and Women’s hockey teams, working with Hockey Equipment Manager, David Baglio. I was the Equipment Manager for the Women’s Team and was responsible for all aspects of preparing and organizing equipment. While at SUNY Cortland, I was a volunteer Equipment Manager for the Men’s Hockey team for the entire season for an Independent Study. I traveled with the team and handled all equipment needs. I also served as an equipment manager for the 2nd and 3rd annual “Miracle on Ice” Fantasy Camps in Lake Placid, NY.
I began skating when I was 4 years old have had a passion for the game growing up as I am working to make a career in the hockey realm. I do still play in men's league hockey today near home. Being I have an extensive knowledge of the game, I feel as though I am well-suited for the role that I am pursing as a professional equipment manager in hockey.
